Dr. Daniel Anderson is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and Medical Engineering and Science at MIT where his research is focused on developing new materials for medicine. Anderson has pioneered the development of smart biomaterials for drug delivery and medical devices. His work has led to advances in a number of fields including nanomedicine, non-viral gene therapies, genome editing, tissue engineering and vaccines. He has published over 320 publications, patents, and patent applications. A number of Anderson’s patents have been licensed to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, with a number of products on the market or in clinical development. Anderson has co-founded seven companies, and is actively working to translate his technology to seek the broadest positive human impact.
