Ashish joined Polaris Partners in 2025 and serves as an advisor partner.
A seasoned strategic and operations executive with a 30+ year tenure at Bain & Company, Ashish led the founding of several Bain practice areas, including Biopharma, Enterprise Software, and Media & Entertainment. He also opened Bain’s office in India in 2005 and led it until 2014. Upon his return to the US, Ashish led Bain’s foray into the Healthcare Services space, building the Payer-Provider practice. Ashish has served in several leadership roles at Bain, including two terms on Bain’s global Board of Directors (2012-2018); Global Practice Leader for Bain Healthcare (2012-2018); founding Managing Director (2005-2011) and Chairman (2011-2014) of Bain India.
Ashish serves on the boards of Brillio and CoverSelf and previously served on the board of Lyndra Therapeutics. In addition, he is an advisor to several innovative healthcare technology startups working to transform the US healthcare system (AI/ML-driven healthcare administrative simplification solutions, next-gen care management & delivery in hard-to-serve segments, and big data/RWE-driven solutions). He also serves on the Board of High Asia Habitat Fund, a non-profit dedicated to preserving traditional ecosystems in Central Asia and Northern India.
Ashish holds a B.A. in Economics with Honors from Harvard College and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction.
